Year 6 Mental Maths Tests

(0)
A series of 30 mental maths test for use in the classroom or as a homework activity. The tests are grouped into a series of three tests that each has similar questions. Question 1 of Test 1a is therefore very similar to question 1 in Test 1b and question 1 in Test 1c. This is to allow the children the chance to learn from their mistakes and try to improve on subsequent tests. I believe this opportunity to consolidate their knowledge is essential if you wish to see real progress. It is therefore really important that you take some time to explain to your children the way to correctly do each question at the end of each test, before they do the next test.

The Test - A Story about an Issue (Honesty)

In Year 4 we recently completed a unit of writing on stories with a theme. We decided to base it on stories that dealt with a moral dilemma. This is one that I wrote as an example of a story about honesty. A child steals an exam paper that he then passes on to his friend who hasn't yet sat the exam. Please feel free to download it and use it.
