First 100 word intervention
This pack is intended to be used with children aged 2-5 Years old where children are struggling with early vocabulary. This short 6 weekly intervention will support children to learn the basic nouns needed to become competent communicators.
How to use it?
It is intended to be run at least three times a week for 10 minutes either 1:1 or in small groups. Firstly assess children against the assessment sheet and picture boards. This will highlight the gaps in vocabulary. Following the weekly lesson plans to aid children to develop their vocabulary firstly with concrete resources and then moving on to pictures. Assessment sheets can be used weekly as a record to track children’s progress. Parent vocabulary sheets can be sent home to share with parents the key vocabulary that is being a focus for each week of the intervention.
