Christmas Quiz

(11)
A quiz all about Christmas that I have prepared for my Year 8 form group this year. It is not too difficult and could be used or adapted for all age groups. I haven't used it yet but I would guess that it would probably take about 25 minutes to complete.

A PowerPoint with varying difficulties of mathematical sums using the written numbers in French. Good for cross-curricular links to maths and improving pupils’ confidence using French numbers. Good for use as a starter or a plenary. There are also a few slides at the end for number splat, where pupils can compete at the board to find the correct number before their opponent.

Le matin

(2)
PowerPoint to introduce pupils to daily routine. Pupils see phrases (je me réveille, je me lève, etc) with pictures to help them guess what the phrases mean. Then there are slides with just the pictures to see if pupils can remember the phrases. The last slides have all but one of the pictures on each slide. Pupils try to work out which one is missing. My pupils in Year 8 really loved it, so I hope it can help you too.

AQA GCSE French speaking exam - conduct and common mistakes

(1)
This PowerPoint could be used for department CPD. It is for the current AQA French speaking exam but could easily be adapted for Spanish / German / Italian / Polish or any other language currently offered by AQA. I wanted to share how best to conduct the speaking exam and, in particular, ensure that students are given the best chances to succeed. In this PowerPoint there are the key principles for conducting the exam, as well as some of the common mistakes made by teachers. I have also tried to explain the criteria to help you to ensure that students know what they should do in each aspect of the exam. I have also included a teacher crib sheet for teachers to use when conducting the exam. This explains what the teacher should say in between each of the exam parts and the introduction script. It included key timings and reminders. Please do review and let me know if you have any questions.
