Daily Act of Collective Worship (DACW)

(17)
This is a full years worth of stimuli for the Daily Act of Collective Worship. Students should be shown one slide, then have an opportunity to discuss the content as a class before been given quiet time to reflect/pray. We do this in form time and it can take anything from 2 to 10 minutes. Estyn were very happy with this approach to DACW in our recent inspection. Each week has a theme that tied in with a date in the 2014-2015 year, so you might want to alter the dates or just remove them from the first slide of each week. If you find this useful, please leave a comment as it's helpful in the Welsh inspection framework to be able to show that others are using your resources.

This PowerPoint has a daily stimulus for use with the daily act of collective worship. Students can watch the stimulus and then use the reflection/prayer point to have a short class discussion. This should then be followed by a short quiet time when they can reflect or pray on the topic. We use this to deliver collective worship in form time and it can last for anything from two to ten minutes per day depending on how long you would like it to take. If you find it useful, I'd be very appreciative if you could leave a comment to let me know and I'll keep posting them every half term.
