Success Criteria labels for children to stick in their books to assess levels of creative writing skill. The success criteria can be printed and cut for children to stick in their books and includes HA and MA level. The MA level SC labels can be adapted for LA children. The learning intention is lifted from the Composition section of Writing under the new National Curriculum for Year 5 so it's easy to assess the writing in your class. Once the children have finished their writing, they can swap their book with a partner, so that the partner can underline the relevant features of the writing with coloured pencils that match the success criteria. The success criteria assesses use of relative clauses, adjectives, speech, time connectives (paragraph cohesion), adverbs and adverbial phrases.
