Riff Composition BTEC

(0)
A simple ppt outlining the different types of riffs and a composition task. Includes riff names and types and definitions. Asks as a good 'mock' for students composition work. Composition task is in similar styling to BTEC composition briefs where they will need to complete and idea and then return to the same idea in the next session to develop it further. The scenario uses 2 made up fictional Norwegian radio stations. Riff composition instructions are basic but students are given clear guidelines as to what is required of them. Works for both KS3 and KS4.

Apple Remix

(0)
A garageband project file setup with two apple style ringtones ready to be used in a remix style project. I have used this activity with BTEC and GCSE students as well as pupils at KS3 using a shortened task list. All the sounds in garageband have been played in and edited so they are all in time with each other. Attached powerpoint outlines the task as well as giving some helpful pointers on how to use the transform pad, tempo track and drummer track in garageband. Worksheet gives the tasks which are already presented on one of the slides. Works as a useful handout to give to students. Enjoy :)

Garageband Basic Skills Technical Challenge

(0)
Set out in the style of a Great British Bake Off style technical challenge, this document provides students with a 'recipe' to follow to create a simple garageband file. This is great as an introductory assessment of students skills or a good way to assess how they can handle garageband after a scheme of work. Simple but effective :)
