Consequences of a sedentary lifestyle (definition match cards)- New Edexcel Specification GCSE (PE)

Definitions are in line with the new Edexcel GCSE Physical Education specification. I used these as a starter (the consequences had not been covered previously). They could also be used as an extension or for revision. I split the class into pairs. I printed these onto card and cut them up and gave on set to each pair. They spread them out on the desk (face down). The students took it in turns to turn over two cards to try and get a pair. If they got a pair they got to keep them, if they didn't they turned them back over. The player with the most pairs at the end won. I then went through the answers as a class. Please note- printing these on to paper rather than card could make the task slightly easier for students. You may be able to see whether there is a word or a definition on the other side if the ink goes through a little. I hope this is useful, If you have time, your feedback would also be greatly appreciated. Esther :)

A recap exercise that could also be used for revision in line with the new Edexcel GCSE Spec. Gets the students moving around the classroom. Bonus questions for higher ability included on most slides. 1. Power point to be printed on full size slides and distributed around the classroom/ sportshall/ department in a random order. 2. Answer sheet to be given to pupils (my group worked in pairs). 3. Give students different starting points. Took my group (middle to high ability) around 20min to complete in total. Hope this is useful :) If you have time, your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
