AQA French GCSE - specification from 2024.
All vocabulary is included per tier, per themes and topics, except for conjuguated verbs, which will be a different booklet.
This resource is for the AQA GCSE FRENCH - FIrst teaching 2024
This is a compilation of all the SAMPLE 1 AQA GCSE paper questions asked during the READING ALOUD task.
FOUNDATION and HIGHER.
This list can also be used to train students understanding and answering questions on the go, to prep them both for the READING ALOUD and the CONVERSATION part of the photo card.
FLASHCARDS:
All cards are colour coded per theme.
The French side has an icon representing the topic.
This allows for quicker and more effective targetting of the specific topics that need to be practiced.
Cards are not divided into Foundation and Higher as there does not appear to be much difference between the 2 (all in the present tense) the difference will be in the quality of response.
LIST:
Questions are divided by themes and topics.
Each topics are divided into Foundation and Higher questions.
I have added 3 or 4 more questions from the old spec, but except these, all questions are from the SAMPLE 1 GCSE AQA paper, therefore not all topics have questions for Foundation AND Higher.
I will include Questions from the SAMPLE 2 paper later one.
The material is for the AQA French GCSE (2024 start).
There is one document for the HIGHER tier and one for the FOUNDATION tier.
Each document includes all 3 tasks.
The marschemes are adapted from the specification in a pupil friendly speech, but I find that these allow teachers to mark while conducting the speaking exam more easily.
Tallies have also been added so that teachers can tick what they hear, to then refer to the relevant marking grid.
Each marking grid is divided into columns for a quick, more straighforward overview.
The third page is for feedback. I personally make my students fill it up themselves while looking at the notes I took on their markschemes. I found this to invite productive discussions.
Each document is a template for practicing a particular type of task.
Each document has been left as a word document so that you can edit and include your own task to fit your own curriculum.
You get 7 word documents:
template for the Role play task (same mark scheme for both foundation and higher)
template for the Reading aloud - foundation
template for the Reading aloud - higher
template for the Photo description - foundation
template for the Photo description - higher
template for the Speaking questions (or “Unprepared conversation”) - foundation

Each document includes:
a short explanation
space for the task in itself
the pupil friendly mark scheme and tallies to help the marking

AQA GCSE FRENCH - NEW SPECIFICATION FROM 2024
Included are 2 individual feedback sheets (one of the 50 and on for the 90 word tasks).
For the 90 word task, I have included “remedial tasks” to pick from, as I have noticed that students tend to fall into these categories.
For the 50 word task, the “Target for next time” would be linked to what remedial task they should do.
The documents are formated with WORD so that you can easily include what you need or change what you want to amend.
These kind of feedback do tend to last from 15 minutes to a whole lesson depending on what remedial tasks you give students.
It also gives you the opportunity to use it as peer assessments if you wished.
Excellent for Homework tasks also.
Can be used at KS3.
AQA GCSE FRENCH - NEW SPECIFICATION FROM 2024
Included are 2 whole class feedback sheets (one of the 50 and on for the 90 word tasks) with their powerpoint.
You will notice that for the “individual reflection”, I have also left it blank, I usually type a few according to what the class needs and just write the number that corresponds to what individual students need.
The documents are formated with WORD so that you can easily include what you need.
I found these kind of feedback do tend to last a whole lesson, so the powerpoints can be very helpful to break it down and go through it step by step, especially the first times you implement it.
This can also be used in KS3.
