Oracy-Inspired Talk Detectives Checklist
Use the Talk Detectives Checklist for your lessons, where your observers are listening and watching to see if any of their peers are using any oracy-based skills. My children have used these during Literacy, History and even Art when they are posed with an discussion-based open question.
Laminate them and use them with whiteboard pens so you can reuse them again and again. Have the children feed back on what went well, and what discussion or oracy guidelines they have used. I have used these in a Key Stage 1 setting, although they can easily be used within Lower Key Stage 2 too.
