A small media pack of items screenshot on mobile device (as it would normally be consumed by the target audience) from Kim Kardashian’s social media presence to support the analyse. One short video included to show the narrative of a series of instagram photos uploaded to create a narrative for the audience.

This is a full lesson that can work as a standalone item to be working on stretching and challenging students with their AO5 skills. Teacher input is needed in the middle for modelling and editing, but the focus here is working on semantics and word association to craft writing responses.

The purpose of this resource is to enable students to be able to work effectively when finding, using, analysing, and linking quotes across the text of Macbeth. Students will focus on exploring quotes and what they show, then linking to wider parts of the text. There are options for different paragraph frameworks to support weaker students, and they can choose then identify in the model. The final task focuses on writing up their own response, then peer assessing for key elements of writing, not marks.

This lesson/revision resource is designed to work on methods within a text. Students need to be able to identify methods and their definitions, then move onto impact of the methods. This focuses on key skills for Q2 to be able to identify and explain the uses. After, the resource moves onto creating their own examples, and a short piece of creative writing including the methods that they have been practicing. The levelled tasks are also ideal for independent practice and revision, if teachers desire.

This is a full lesson with an example from Language Paper 2 Question 5. The lesson has clear learning intentions and success criteria, with clear expectations given for article writing at GCSE level, and opportunities for planning and writing. It works as a full lesson, along with some reminders for revision.

I’ve also added some key items to help for focusing on the Unseen Poetry section. I’ve designed this to work on the morning of the exam so that when sleepy students come in, they can be getting their brains ready for English before going into the exam so that they are ready to access the material.

I made these resources with Y10 students in mind, and it fits into a drop down timetable for those students who don’t manage to secure a placement for work experience week, but it could easily be altered for wider engagement. L1 focuses on appropriate workplace engagement. L2 helps students to write a personal statement L3 has an oracy focus with interview skills L4 focuses on reflection and looks towards their futures.
