Noughts and Crosses term long scheme of work

This resource covers the entire of Noughts and Crosses for the AQA GCSE written paper. It enables teachers to deliver with a mix of practical and theory lessons, lessons suitable for cover and for flexible practice. This scheme gives full lesson plans for 12 lessons and it is suggested that, with practical lesson time and the repetition of lessons for Act 2 as indicated, it would cover a full term of 2/3 lessons per week. All resources listed in the lesson plans are provided other than the script itself and exams as these are available on AQA’s resource bank. This scheme is very useful for those new to the text and do not know the text at all or teachers who are already familiar.

This ‘Design to Product’ 6 week scheme of work uses an appreciation of the professional work Nutcracker! by Matthew Bourne to develop an understanding of dynamics in dance. Suited for key stage 3, it is very interactive, creative and a subtle way of introducing the professional Ballet. I have used this very successfully with boy heavy, mixed groups and it has been memorable for students of all abilities. The package includes the scheme of work (lesson plans and criteria) and resources for lesson and homework.
