After being introduced to the artist, J Vincent Scarpace, students will have the opportunity to pick one of his pieces to copy. They are encouraged to consider their ability at fine, intricate pen work therefore there is a printable PDF containing a selection of options in Bronze, Silver or Gold levels. A carefully curated group task, a starter, main including 2 tasks, and a plenary to summarize learning. An overview of the project as a whole, with the learning objectives and artistic outcomes. Also attached to this bundle is the printable PDF needed for the group work starter of the lesson. Instructions on how to use this are given within the PowerPoint. It’s based on a 1-hour lesson for primary-aged students, ideally year 5 and 6 but can easily be adapted with literacy tweaks for older or younger audiences.
