A full powerpoint providing the annotated poem, background information, and developed analysis for Scottish N5/Higher pupils using the poem as a critical essay text. Can be used as a Set Text resource with the new update to these lists for 2025/26. There is also a set of group discussion questions that has been used previously for the necessary ‘Talk assessment’ at both N5 and Higher.

A full scheme of work - powerpoint and worksheets - on the film ‘Gorillas in the Mist’ with tasks on Camera Angles, Sound, and Lighting/Colour in film. Other tasks include close reading of texts for information and a pupil-led research task where the end outcome is an informative essay they have written themselves. Optional group presentation task as well. I have used this with S2 learners (13 year olds approx) but could be used for any learners within 11-14 age range. Works well as part of a wider topic about endangered animals or conservation.
