The lower ability game requires pupils to add fractions that have the same denominator, The middle ability game involves adding fractions where denominators have the same multiple (changing one fraction). Differentiated money problem solving activity worksheets. Online game links

I made these for a Year 5 class to practise problem solving with money. All of the sub headings are links to games found on Topmarks: http://www.topmarks.co.uk/Interactive.aspx?cat=25 I embedded the games into my school's VLE. NOTE: It is necessary to erase the prices, in white, on Gordon's muti-buy shop for the lower and middle ability paper because each child will have a different price. I printed them out then just tip-exed them out before photocopying. It helped to show the children a print screen of what they need to write for Check out Challenge (see resources) and to inform them that they need to work through the afternoon and evening shift to complete the tasks (for lower and middle). It may need some monitoring on Gordon’s multi-buy shop so they don't reveal the answers before working them out.

Measuring angles/Using a protractor/naming angles KS2 differentiated Year 5

(0)
I made these for a Year 5 lesson. I set up the tables as shown in the pictures. There were four triangles and one rectangle for the lower ability tables, four triangles and one quadrilateral for the middle ability and polygons (at least one quadrilateral and two hexagons) for the higher ability. I modelled how to use a protractor and asked them to measure the angles on the starter activity. Then, in ability pairs, the children had to measure their angles and write the angles on the table in whiteboard pen. They then chose two triangles and recorded their results on the worksheet, checking all angles add up to 180 degrees. There is an extension task on all worksheets if they finish. Can be adapted.

I made these for a Year 5 class for rounding decimals. The children could chose which colour worksheet to try and they walked around the school finding the numbers that matched their colour then filled in the columns on their worksheet. The colours are in line with the new curriculum objectives for rounding decimals (Green- Year 4, Blue- Year 5 and Red Year 6). It is possible to make more boxes with more questions if needed.
