Suitable for English and Drama lessons. This resource introduces students to the characters, setting, action and relationship dynamics at the start of the play version of the novel. This could be a useful resource for teaching the text in either novel or scripted form; for use within a scheme based on desert islands, bullying or decision making.

Pupils read an extract about Britney Spears and how she became famous as a child. Students do various improv activities using her story as stimulus.

I do this with Yr 9's culminating in a class performance for our school's Remembrance Day assembly.

I use this to help the pupils build up a glossary in their drama workbooks.

I use this as a homework task within a Yr 7 scheme of work on Musical Theatre, and provide the children with a simple cat-shaped mask template too.

This would also work well as a Speaking & Listening assessment in English. The worksheets are really for cover or if you have one of those classes where pupils may need removing, and will thus need something to do out of the lesson!
