GCSE French Speaking Revision

(0)
Great for revision, cover lessons or homework, this easily printable 3-page cheat sheet provides AQA GCSE French students with clear guidance on how to improve their speaking (and writing) in preparation for the GCSE speaking exam. Page 1 (pictured): Contains a concise reference section including essential vocabulary, key verbs and tenses, as well as hints and tips on elevating and enhancing speaking and writing for higher students. The great thing however, is the revision exercises on pages 2 and 3. If you’re in a rush and need to give your students some quality revision tasks to complete, this is the resource for you. Made by a teacher with over 5 years experience teaching French to GCSE level, this is a high quality, differentiated resource for both higher and foundation students. Pages 2 and 3 provide students with a selection of revision tasks they can complete independently. The aim is to guide and enhance student speaking revision, by showing how to draft answers, how to review and improve speaking answers and how to improve them. Furthermore, there is a bonus reading comprehension and writing task at the end to help students practice the key skill of ‘lifting’ French text to answer questions in French. This is a really great resource that my own students found really worthwhile and is sure to help students to improve their speaking prowess. The colourful graphics also make it a brilliant resource for students to stick on their wall at home … or in your classroom! For best results, this resource is designed to be printed recto verso in A3.

There’s been a murder in the Languages department! This fun investigation activity allows Key Stage 3 students to control the direction of their own learning, through reading, speaking, and listening in the target language of French. The murder mystery encourages students to revise and practice simple opinions and telling the time, as well as honing role play and speaking skills and read for gist. AS A BONUS there is a resource pack and detailed plan showing how you can expand this murder mystery into a whole school carousel-style event that gives students the opportunity to explore both Spanish and French language and culture in an exciting and engaging way.
