Pupils are given a range of quotes from the book (on strips) from the perspective of Julian, Charlotte and Jack Will.
The quotes include dialogue with Auggie and references to body language. which provides clues about each of the characters’ feelings about Auggie.
Pupils work in groups.
Pupils then label each quote as positive or negative and then label with a strategy e.g., diminishing, patronising or insulting.
Thereafter each quote in placed on a continuum (responses) from positive (10) to negative of a
(zero).
From this pupil can draw conclusions about each of the characters personalities.
