After Easter I work through this PP with the Year 11’s to cover everything from each unit where possible. I also save it on Teams for them. They sit a MOC exam after Easter and the results are given out and I mark their GCSE coursework and given them their grade to encourage students to revise for their written test to keep their grade. This is a revision pack I would use for Year 11 to revise for the exam. Give it to them before Easter and direct them to the link below for the online answers. These questions have been taken from past papers to give the students an idea of the way exam questions are written and the responses needed for full marks. See Youtube link for the answers. The students can be sent these links to help them at home answer the questions. In Year 10 I would provide them with revision packs for each unit. Using their writing books, revision packs and the internet will help them answer the Year 11 exam revision packs. All packs are available in TES

Y10 will cover the plan, design, questionnaire and evaluation process as a warm up to the GCSE. This will cover the whole unit of 1hr lessons, SOW and and extra such as health and safety and CV building. All practical skills are covering nails. I will be gradually uploading them on You Tube as well under Hairy Lorna to help with guidance of how to teach this. Teach this unit first as it is the science based unit and also I have provided revision notes/test on unit 203 as well on TES. This will be taught 5 lessons every fortnight. You can also use the ITC rooms in between if needed. Most lessons are based on 30 mins teaching and 30 mins practical, some lessons may need 1hr practical and 1hr theory depending on whats being taught. I also teach nail art in this era, the students have 1 hour to paint two nails on their nail wheel. A display of ideas is shown to help them. Please see attached a template to use with your students and book resource to print about the 1920’s hair, makeup and nails. Students can complete the research template this month making lots of notes and adding pictures to this, as next month they don’t have the use of the internet. Check out the link on YouTube to use with your class too.

Released in January 2023 was the brief for the 2023 Year 11 assignment. It was on Ancient Egyptian this year and I have copied some resources to hand out to your students for this month, Also a template to use in February to assist the students and ensure they do complete all that is required to pass the GCSE. I would put the brief at the front, followed by the research and then give them highlighters to highlight any areas of interest to do with hair, make-up, nails, products, tools and equipment this month. Next month I would provide tasks 1,2,& 3 along with a basic template to use as a guide.

This is a whole terms worth of work including ICT lessons to prep for the exam, SOW, lesson plans and end of unit 201 test paper with answers and revision packs. Everything you need for delivery. This would be taught after Xmas as I would usually start with unit 202. Most lessons are a mixture, some you will teach theory on the era in the first half an hour and then afterwards you will demo the era look. The next lesson they will have a full hour to practise that look on their partner. Make sure you get after photos to display on the PPT for next year as examples and to display in the classroom or wall. There are ICT lessons included if needed. Adapt to suit you.

At the end of unit you may wish to test your students just on question 201. There is also a revision pack with answer guides for both and an Era guide with test too. Save yourself time and downloads these. I have a lot more on units 201, 202 and 203 to enable you to teach the whole year, stress free all planned for you.

This is the end of unit test for unit 202 This has questions taken from a range of previous papers all put together on one document to sit in exam conditions. You will also have revision notes to download and print to help. All documents will eventually be uploaded on YouTube Hairy Lorna with advice on how to teach this. This is a massive unit so save yourself time and download this to help you. I have other resources on 201 and 203 too.
