African Drumming PMLD Session

(0)
African drumming sessions designed for learners with PMLD. The original group of learners are at the earliest steps of routes of learning with very limited physical movement, therefore session designed for more listening & vocalisation skills. Various call & response songs, and drumming tutorials. We did these weekly over 8 weeks to develop consistency and staff confidence with singing/drumming so it became a lovely group activity which we were able to have fun with and extend. Various YouTube links to follow in powerpoint and ideas to use them. I am aware Harry Belafonte is not African! However, learners really enjoyed the included song and staff copying the vocalisations that’s why it is included.
