This is a chapter by chapter exercise packet intended to facilitate understanding of this wonderful teenage novel. It features a variety of comprehension based exercises, which include: True/False, Multiple Choice, gap filling and extended answers. I produced this along with an abridged version of the book, sadly not given authorisation by LH Anderson as I felt my weaker students in a Grade 9 international school class were not getting the benefit of a book that is more than just fiction but such a general education on many of the mysterious issues in a teen's life. I found that both materials opened up the students' world and the discussions that ensued once they had understood the basics were amazing. Enjoy!

Characterisation revision.

This exercise, complete with link to the short film - Schwarzfahrer (10 minutes in length), tests students ability to gauge subtexts and explore themes and morals. While this document was designed for English Language B, I have also used it in PSHE and it lends itself to Humanities and can also be translated into foreign languages as an MYP resource.

Designed primarily for the MYP Language B criterion Visual Interpretation, this is a worksheet or short test where students are encouraged to explore the use of colour and design on a book cover to grasp the underlying themes of the novella.
