I used this with my class to show them different ways of handling data. Using small bags of M&m’s, the pupils sort the colours before completing the tally chart, bar graph and answering questions.
Have your pupils spread kindness by leaving compliments on classmates Compli-mats. I used this as a transition activity however you may use it to simply spread some kindness around. It’s also a helpful tool for self esteem work in a nurture setting.
I created this all about me resource to use with this years P7 group transitioning to high school.
It could also be used to introduce pupils to a new teacher or as a talking mat for a new group experience.
I created this workbook for World Oceans day.
Within the pack you will identify different oceans and also study animals within the oceans before creating a research report of your own.
I have hidden the jolly phonics tricky word lists within these pictures. Children colour the square depending on the word identified and the image will become apparent at the end.
I’ve created a template with simple follow along instructions. I used this with upper stages to create a love heart gift bag as a Valentines activity but it could be used for a range of important dates.
In class I asked the pupils to write messages on to their hearts before cutting them out.
Resources required - card, scissors and glue.
A Halloween inspired addition mat. I created counters for this activity by painting butter beans. You could easily use pom poms, milk bottle caps or another manipulative as a counter.
I created this for a bit of Halloween fun in my classroom. I printed it off in A3 and each child write their name on the back of a wart before being blindfolded and set free to ‘pin the wart on the witch’
I have a number of free resources for download. Head on over to Instagram @TeachingInTrainers to see how I and others use them.
I created this Boggle for my classroom wall as a fast finisher task. I plan to make it a small weekly competition and I will mix the rules up. Some weeks it will be for individuals, partners or entire tables.
I will also have some weeks whereby I allow a dictionary and other weeks where I allow an online dictionary to promote word searching skills.
I printed 2 full sets of cards to double up the vowels and common doubled letters
This resource includes 9 bingo boards containing various numbers to 19. (Print as many copies as required to accomodate your class)
Also included is a Powerpoint using place value images of ten blocks and units. Pupils must work out the place value amount and mark it off on their bingo boards.
This is a really simple writing lesson in which I asked pupil to describe Cranachan, the Scottish pudding, for Burns Night. Followed by drawing an image of the layering and ingredients.
We then made Cranachan in class and served it in small clear cups. The recipe attached is for 10 portions.
