IMI - On-line Health and Safety Quiz

(1)
This is a power point quiz that i designed to help learners pass the IMI - On-line Health and Safety Test. Qualification Ref: 603/760/7 (although this is a great quiz for anybody learning health and safety in general). Qualification: IMI Level 1 automotive maintenance. Please see the link below for a video to show you more about these resources. https://youtu.be/B3acHJfQnt4 Resources: • 100 page health and safety quiz (moving resource) • Answer guide I have had great success when using this quiz 15min at the end of every lesson to re-enforce health and safety knowledge. I have added 100 popular health and safety questions that seem to pop up in the IMI health and safety test (although these are not guaranteed to show up) however, over 8 years on teaching this qualification at an alternative provision and I have only had a handful of learners fail the test and nobody has ever failed the test twice. I use this recourse: • As a competitive quiz in groups • As a competitive quiz individually • Print off for learners to revise from as a book • Send this power point to a learner’s email address, digital device so they can test themselves or revise from I reward marks and offer incentives for learners that give the correct answer. This power point will provide the foundational health and safety knowledge that will help any learner pass this on-line test. I have also provided an answer sheet that a TA, teacher or learner is able to use if they struggle to answer any of the questions. Please keep in mind, that the health and safety quiz have some questions on tools and equipment so before entering the test also quiz your learners on names and safety checks on tools and equipment. Thank you for reading.

This is a resource made so that tutors are able to achieve all of the assessment criteria required to pass the IMI automotive maintenance qualification. Reff: 603/7607/7. Within this resource pack you will find a power point presentation. A workbook with links on where to find the correct answers to questions within the power point and a summative assessment L1am02 unit. The unit is evidence that all of the assessment criteria has been achieved, asked for by the IMI. There is also practical evidence templates that explain what practical evidence is required from the learners and how we advise this should be gathered (within out cutting and sticking down photo evidence to save time). I really hope this helps anybody teaching the qualification and if there are any questions please contact me. Thank you Adam

Interactive Extra Plenary Tasks / Extension Tasks / Self-Assessment Tasks - For the overachievers!

I have created this *no pressure resource * to inspire creativity during a time of formative assessment . During my lessons i found that i always had overachievers, or during the end of a lesson, a little time to spare that i had not planned for. I wanted to create a fun activity that my learners would enjoy engaging in, in a none pressured way that is also meaningful and has purpose i.e. assessing what knowledge my learners have actually gained during my lesson. I now leave this power point up in the classroom halfway through my lesson and when a learner has completed all their targets i ask them to choose 1 of 100 buttons on the power point. Each button takes the learner to a task that they are to complete with what ever time they have left. They can be as creative as they like and this method avoids the whole ‘right answer’ ‘wrong answer’ approach to assessing a learners understanding. Each task on the power point is designed to be creative and fun but asks the learner(s) to show facts/information or keywords that they should have learnt that lesson to assess if they have been paying attention or understood the material. e.g. of tasks: ‘Design a tree, writing on each branch facts learnt in todays lesson’ ‘Draw a zombie chasing after key words that you have learnt in todays lesson’ ‘Create a comic book strip showing something you have learnt in todays lesson’ ‘write feedback to the teacher about todays lesson, what went well and what could have beeb improved’ 96 more … let them be as creative as possible with very little help to guide them. You can click ‘back’ at any point to return to the home screen to choose another button for others learners whenever required. I have had a lot of success and fun with this resource and i am proud of how creative my learners have been to show their understanding! I hope you enjoy this resource. Thank you for reading! p.s. my learners are aged between 13 - 16 but i would recommend this resource for any age.

Qual: IMI Level 1 Automotive Maintenance Qual ref: 603/760/7 Resources: 25 page power point presentation 6-page health and safety note book 6-page summative assessment unit Practical support evidence This resource has been developed to enable teachers to provide sufficient evidence to achieve the assessment criteria for assessment unit L1am01 of the IMI Level 1 auto maintenance qualification. This resource pack enables teachers to provide a great method of teaching and learning, allowing them to adapt the resource to meet their needs e.g. adding teaching aids, props, posters etc. However, using the power point presentation would provide enough information for the learners to achieve the theory sections assessment criteria. The power point presentation alone is fully controlled by the teacher, allowing them to control the pace of the presentation at a touch of a button. The resource pack also includes a health and safety workbook that learners can follow along and answer questions to reinforce the information being taught. A great advantage of the power point presentation and workbook is that it can be taught in many ways, as a class or small groups or the power point can be printed out as a booklet to be given to an individual to work independently. This is ideal if you work at an alternative provision that may have learners arriving at any point throughout the school year. The resource pack also includes a summative assessment unit. This is given to the learners after the teaching and learning and after an assessment of their workbooks. The pass rate for this assessment unit is set at 60% but please keep in mind that for a learner to achieve all the assessment criteria within the unit, that learners must answer and score marks in every question. Learners that score a zero during any question or score a total of 60% or below would require a re-take of the assessment unit. We recommend that 2 marks are awarded for every correct answer/statement. Whilst half marks would be awarded if the learner is only part right. This can be adapted or changed to suit the teacher once purchased. The assessment unit also comes with a ‘practical task description’ to enable the learner to achieve all the assessment criteria for L1am01. I have also attached a separate area for learners to complete and evidence their practical task. Once all the theory and practical tasks are complete, the assessor can tick the correct learning outcome/practical boxes and finalise all evidence with a final signature. I am slowly writing all the material for learners to achieve a Diploma so please keep checking on my TES page for more resources. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you.
