MFL Training Pack 1 (How to plan a successful lesson)
The Rationale
In recent years of mentoring within the MFL department, I have identified a critical gap: the need for a practical manual to help trainees structure lessons that move students from Foundation to Mastery.
Through my own practice, I realized that my most successful lessons aligned naturally with Bloom’s Taxonomy. This resource is designed to help novice teachers explicitly plan for cognitive progression, ensuring students don’t just “mimic” language, but eventually “master” it.
How to Use This Resource
This manual serves as a “health check” for lesson structures. Before a trainee delivers a lesson, they should use the Bloom’s Question Bank to ensure they aren’t spending 50 minutes at the “Remembering” level.
