Here are useful posters for the NEW AQA Language and Literature GCSE. Included: A4 Assessment Objectives for both Language and Literature (colour coded) Map Overviews for both Language and Literature (colour coded) - I recommend printed in A3 for the classroom and perhaps A4 for GCSE students. I find the Map Overview for Language particularly useful for when students ask, "wait, what are the differences between Paper 1 and Paper 2?"

Here is a grid for KS4 students to use alongside the study of the new AQA English Language and Literature GCSE. The grid consists of literary AND structural techniques (highlighted in yellow), definitions of each technique, example/s of each technique as well as the effect of the technique upon the reader. I have found the EFFECTS column incredibly useful with my students to stop them saying, "to make the reader read on". Where possible, I have tried to link the examples to the texts students may be studying for the new AQA GCSE. An engaging creative writing scheme of work for KS3 (used for mixed ability). Students learn a range of key writing skills as they write their own adventure story called The Quest. Students focus on a range of different writing forms for each chapter. Full LTP included with each lesson numbered with a ppt. and linked resources.

This is a mini 6-lesson scheme of work introducing KS3 students to podcasting. This resource has been made for a weekly elective with Year 8 mixed ability students but resources can be edited to suit differing contexts. If you do not have access to recording equipment, students can ‘perform’ their podcasts live in the final lesson. Included: 5 PowerPoint lessons Student booklet in .doc and .pdf form

It includes: - Overview of this section of the exam (including the AOs) - Five steps for tackling an unseen poem - An example poem and answer; highlighted according to the AOs - Examiner commentary on the example answer Teacher's may want to download and transform into a range of ppts. or ask students to print booklets ready for tackling unseen poems within a classroom setting.

Practice exam papers suitable for AQA English Literature 2018. This pack includes x53 Literature questions: x12 A Christmas Carol Questions (including extracts) x10 Macbeth Questions (including extracts) x7 Blood Brothers Questions (x2 per paper = x14 questions overall) x14 Power and Conflict Questions (one for each power and conflict poem) x10 Unseen Poetry Questions (including the comparison 8 mark question) I have designed these questions to look similar to the AQA question papers.

Great for trainee teachers or NQTs. This is my template for any new lessons. The ppt. introduces key rules presented in a clear and engaging manner. The ppt. then leads onto a LO template with key symbols I use for key points within all of my lessons (task, question, keyword and challenge). This is great for LA/SEN students who recognise symbols/colours easier than words! The ppt. is adaptable for all teachers of all subjects.
