Make it, Count it, Write it
This engaging, multi-step maths activity helps children develop number sense through tactile and visual exploration. Using a variety of loose parts such as beads, buttons, or pom-poms, children will form a number, build the matching quantity, and then practice writing the numeral.
This activity follows a “Form it – Build it – Write it” structure:
Form it: Children use loose parts to carefully place along a pre-drawn or outlined numeral.
Build it: Children use cubes, counting bears, or other manipulatives to create a set that matches the number.
Write it: Children attempt to write the number independently using the formation examples given
