ESAT Mock Paper 2
ESAT Mock Paper 1 - Full 2026-Specification Mock
Put your ESAT preparation to the test with ESAT Mock Paper 1, a full-length mock designed around the 2026 ESAT format and question structure.
This mock covers all five ESAT modules, with 27 multiple-choice questions in each module:
Mathematics 1 - 27 questions
Mathematics 2 - 27 questions
Physics - 27 questions
Chemistry - 27 questions
Biology - 27 questions
That gives you 135 questions across the complete ESAT specification.
Each module is designed to reflect the real assessment format: 40 minutes per module, with questions testing your ability to apply mathematical and scientific knowledge rather than simply recall facts. The ESAT is calculator-free, and this mock is designed with the same expectation.
What this mock covers
Mathematics 1
Core mathematical problem-solving, including algebra, number, geometry, graphs, sequences, statistics, probability and other topics within the ESAT Mathematics 1 specification.
Mathematics 2
More advanced mathematical content and problem-solving, designed for candidates taking the Mathematics 2 module.
Physics
Questions covering the mathematical application of physics across the areas specified for the ESAT, with an emphasis on interpreting information, applying principles and solving unfamiliar problems.
Chemistry
Specification-based questions spanning the relevant chemical principles, calculations, structures, reactions and applications expected for the ESAT.
Biology
Questions covering the ESAT Biology specification, including biological processes, genetics, cells, organisms, physiology, ecology and experimental/data interpretation.
Real ESAT structure
The official ESAT consists of five separate 40-minute modules, each containing 27 multiple-choice questions. Candidates take Mathematics 1 plus two further modules depending on their course; Engineering applicants, for example, take Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2 and Physics.
The real ESAT is not negatively marked: your score is based on the number of questions answered correctly, so you should attempt every question. Module scores are reported separately on a 1.0–9.0 scale.
Who is this for?
This mock is suitable for students preparing for the 2026 ESAT, including applicants for:
Engineering
Natural Sciences
Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology
Veterinary Medicine
Use the full paper as a realistic timed test, or complete individual modules separately to target your weaker areas. The official 2026 ESAT is used for 2027 entry, with the first sitting taking place 12-16 October 2026.
