Robot Keyring & Heart Tealight Holder: 2 Woodworking Lessons
Digital woodworking lesson pack. An adult prepares or orders the wooden parts before class. No physical kit is supplied or shipped.
LED TEALIGHTS ONLY - NO OPEN-FLAME CANDLES. Wooden holders for purchased LED tealights; no wiring or electronics assembly. Two holders per child. Choose LED tealights with screw-secured or tool-opened battery compartments. Two English-subtitled project videos are included.
WHO IT IS FOR
For teachers, clubs and homeschool groups. Two adult-led lessons in English for ages 7-11; adapt tasks to individual readiness.
WHAT CHILDREN PRACTISE
Robot: identify symmetry, mark from a template, match a screwdriver to its screw drive, assemble prepared fasteners and decorate a wooden figure.
Holder: compare a shape with its template, sand smooth edges, apply a finish evenly, and check stability and the fit of an LED tealight.
LESSON TIME
Robot keyring: 50 minutes. Heart tealight holder: 50 minutes. Timings are lesson-plan estimates; full glue/finish curing is additional.
PREPARATION TIME
Planning estimate: 20-30 minutes per lesson to check and lay out ready-made kits and tools for 6 children; not a measured time. Make and test a sample before first use. Ordering, cutting, drilling, trial assembly and glue/finish curing take additional time.
TOOLS AND SUPPLIES TO HAVE
For the sessions: safety glasses, P120/P180 sanding blocks, pencil/template, a matching hand screwdriver, a holding clamp or fixture, soft brushes, wipes and suitable decorating materials. Provide two ready-made LED tealights per participant for the holder lesson; the adult handles batteries and their compartment tool.
BEFORE CLASS: ADULT PREPARATION
Adult/workshop: cut and pre-drill robot blocks, make the decorative cut and secure nails/chain. Cut two hearts per child with an electric jigsaw; drill 10 mm-deep recesses with a suitable Forstner bit. Check LED fit before batch-making. Use clamped workpieces, drilling fixtures and dust control.
