As pupils have to know key quotes from the texts, I have created a resource which can be printed for pupils to help them memorise key quotes. Each texts has been split into three key themes and quotes from Macbeth, A Christmas Carol and Blood Brothers linking to these themes have been included. I have included a revision card for each pupils on the context of these three texts too.

In this unit, students will study extracts from the 19th and 20th Century fiction from the anthology. They will develop their understanding of the context in which the texts were written, the changing nature of childhood and ways that childhood has not changed. They will explore the writers’ styles, developing their ability to analyse linguistic and literary devices, sentence structure and vocabulary.
