Fun badminton game to promote student engagement. Students each get a scorecard where they self officiate their own mini games. The students play 5 mini games - each game score must be recorded. Extra points are awarded for successful shots (i.e. smash shots, drop shot, serve, overhead etc) to promote efficient techniques. Can be adapted for any racket sport.

This personal exercise booklet is a great way for the students to monitor their fitness progress. The booklet includes 6 lessons (1 terms work) that cover a variety of fitness tests and activities. Each lesson has questions to think about and answer. Lesson 1 - initial fitness tests - heart rate measurements Lesson 2- the bleep test Lesson 3 - Circuits Lesson 4 - Creating an exercise lesson that includes a warm up, main activity and cool down. Lesson 5 - Leading the session they created (what went well and even better if sections) Lesson 6 - Repetition of initial fitness tests to identify a potential progress in fitness. This booklet has worked really well for KS3 students as it has given them a sense of ownership over their learning.
