Lessons aiming to improve the quality of descriptive writing by introducing CASSIE. Each lesson has an activity for each part of CASSIE to introduce the students to what each part means and to plan for a final piece of writing by the end of the lesson. One lesson is Christmas themed, the other beach themed but both use the same lesson outline and can easily be adapted to suit whatever final image the writing will be based upon. I have found that using CASSIE has greatly improved my students’ writing.
