Full whole class guided reading lessons for Chapter 1 of Beowulf. 30 slides explaining new vocabulary 5 multiple choice questions per lesson comprehension questions suitable for KS2 for each lesson How to use this resource: Introduce the new vocabulary by reading the slide. Check understanding by asking children to select the picture that best represent that word. There may be more than one right answer. Children then identify the word that isn’t a synonym. Read through the text. Answers to the comprehension questions at the end are boxed so ensure these vocabulary or phrases are explained. After reading the text, children complete the quickfire multiple choice questions. Children complete the comprehension questions independently.
