This is an entire lesson to go with P12 of Studio GCSE French (9-1). It contains a kinesthetic reading activity - cut the texts up and stick around the room - give the students the differentiated reading questions as well as a differentiated battleships activity.

This is 2 lessons covering P14 -15 of Studio Edexcel GCSE 9-1. They are written for a Year 9 mixed ability class (we do 3 year GCSE) and start with revision of futur proche but are based around the Higher book. I have adapted the Listening activity but it uses the listening file from Studio.

This is based around p32/33 in Stimmt 2 but also includes an authentic German TV schedule with a reading activity on the ppt and some translation sentences based around gern and justifying opinions.

This is a ppt and game to practice describing a picture as per the Edexcel Foundation Written paper and as an introduction to the speaking. It is written for Year 9 who are starting a 3 year GCSE.

These are the Edexcel GCSE marks schemes sized to fit sticky labels. The prose and translation labels are for A4 sheets with 8 sticky labels per sheet. The labels for the 90 word writing task and the Foundation picture description fit 4 per sheet. I am using A4 sheets with 2 sticky labels on them and then once the 4 are printed on, cutting them in half. Underline the appropriate descriptor and then write a quick ebi comment and cut down on marking time.

This was written for my mixed ability Year 9 GCSE French group. We do a 3 year GCSE and this lesson and the follow up were to teach the students how to plan the 90 word overlap essay question. I set an essay question at the end of lesson 1 and lesson 2 - self assessment has students looking at their own work. The sample piece has deliberate mistakes in.

I am trying to ensure my GCSE classes fulfill the demands of the essay tasks in the Edexcel writing papers. The self assessment form has been designed to go with Q3 on the Foundation paper and both of the Higher questions.

This is a whole lesson based around Dynamo 1, Module 1, Unit 6. It assumes the class have already covered numbers, months and dates. The speaking activity has 9 sets of information - photocopy and cut up. Some people will obviously have the same information.

This is a ppt and listening activity to go with Studio 9-1, Module 8, Un oeil sur le monde, Point de départ. There are two video links and a listening activity and comprehension questions for both.

This goes with Studio 9-1, Module 1, Qui suis-je? and has been written for a mixed ability year 9 class doing 3 year GCSE. It recaps simple physical description in the context of describing a picture. It practices il y a un homme/une femme etc and hair/eye colour and clothing. These are recapped without much detail because we studied these at the end of year 8. There is a snakes and ladders game to practice the vocab covered and at the end a picture task as per the Edexcel foundation paper.

Board game that practices possible prompts etc for the first topic (Qui suis-je?) in the new Edexcel Studio book. Also 2 role plays I have created with teacher parts. I gave half the class role play A and the teacher part for role play B, the other half B and teacher part A and then paired them up meaning that the unexpected question was totally unexpected.

This ppt is based on June 2013 Edexcel Listening paper. It uses the overlap questions and the sound files are built in to the ppt. I am trying to encourage my students to think about what they are going to hear and annotate/predict key French vocabulary and phrases. Hopefully useful for those borderline C/D students!
