Lessons from this unit were given an ofsted outstanding. These lessons were used with students with levels 2/low 3 and who were foundation students or EAL. We were working on writing and analysing adverts to meet assessment focuses AF1 and AF2. students really enjoyed the work we did. All clips that go with clip worksheet are available on Youtube. An academic mentoring document that covers 3 terms of the year and breaks down academic review, pastoral focus and target setting. This would work for KS3, KS4 or KS5 or could be used at primary phase. A great tutor activity.

Here are 2 powerpoints and accompanying worksheets. Levels are 2-5 and are translated in to Slovak, Polish and Czech. Class resources were made for were very weak and were new to the country or foundation students working at levels 2/low 3. By the end of the topic students were working at level 5s. This is a powerpoint with embedded resources made for the exam board Edexcel and the topic marriage and the family although could be adapted. It is differentiated for level 4, 5 and 6 with support and extension activities. Made for a recent observation with a focus on independent learning. This is an 8 week Scheme of Learning (some lessons may take longer than others so this could easily stretch to suit a 10 week learning block) suitable for KS3 - I taught this to Year 8, however, it would work for year 7 and 9 as well. I have used some of the resources for lower KS4 sets too. This is focused around the book ‘Bambert’s Book of Missing Stories’ - you will need a copy of this for some of the extracts. This is an exam skills lesson I used following lessons on euthanasia. It helps students with writing their own exam responses as they are able to identify what is wrong/right in the exam responses. I often, if time, would then ask students to rewrite the responses making sure they are improved to gain full marks based on the areas we discussed in class.

This is a carousel type activity I use in order to assess how much the class have learnt in the previous 3 subtopics. I used this lesson following Islam and the views about LAD, Christianity and the views about LAD and non-religious attitudes to LAD. It is differentiated with writing frames. The class responded well and really liked this activity - I have made more which I will upload. I apologise for any typos. I hope you enjoy and find useful. This is the first lesson on the topic community cohesion for the Edexcel exam board although could be easily adapted to another exam board. It is a good way to gauge the understanding of students and help you plan future lessons based on this. Students really enjoyed the lesson and can be easily differentiated. Project based learning. This project is levelled (and sub levelled) from a 4.5 - 6.75. it also assessed PLTs. The task is for students to answer 'THE BIG QUESTION&' - How will you ALL survive? I divided students in to groups of ability. Each group were asked to take on a role and in this role they were responsible for taking on one of the tasks in the project. Differentiated throughout. Tasks to enhance learning (cut up and dropped in to more able groups to develop learning and questioning). Please rate as would be useful for feedback so further work can be created like this.

Useful for KS3 and KS4, this resource allows students to explore structural techniques by using the trailer from Spider Man: No Way Home. This can be used for all exam boards. I used this in a recent observation (with a bottom set year 10 with many EAL and SEND students) and the feedback was all very positive. Students were fully engaged in the task and for the less able, students used the scaffolded writing frame to write an analytical paragraph at the end. I printed the slide with the images from the trailer on A3 sided paper and students used this alongside the support sheet. Please leave a review if you have found this useful.
