A revision masterclass aimed at HA students exploring how historical context is woven throughout Macbeth. Explores what is meant by context in an exam and then focuses on The Great Chain of Being, The Gunpowder Plot & James 1st, The Role of Women and Biblical References

An overview of Macbeth’s character arc across the whole play. Recaps each Act and and scene relevant to Macbeth, drawing on key quotes and ideas and considering the contrasts in Macbeth’s character. Begins to draw contextual links between scenes and links to themes etc.

A full 6-8 week unit exploring all aspects of cinematography and related components of studying film. Aligned with Eduqas GCSE Film Studies and explores camera shots, angles and movement, lighting, colour, editing and features an end of unit assessment linked to the exam questions.

A four lesson mini scheme that explores the 8 mark question and how to effectively compare unseen poems in the exam (could take up to 6 lessons to teach effectively). Particularly suitable for those studying AQA English Literature and pushing for grades 6-9, but could be adapted.
