I made this resource to revise prepositions, relative clauses and expanded noun phrases within the context of a narrative using The Arrival Chapter 1. The children build up the skills to write a narrative and edit and publish their writing creatively. These are the slides leading up to the first draft.

Each week there is a painting to share with your class and questions to promote discussion and thinking. This is a great way to start a morning each week!

I made this treasure hunt for children to use on their self-guided visit to the National Gallery. Thought it would help keep them focused and looking carefully at the art work rather than just walking round with no focus!

In order for the children to see the images and words more clearly, I photographed the pages and copied them into Smart! Hope this saves somebody time!

Cut up this template and children find the correct definition and example to match the terminology. Can be used as a timed activity to make it competitive. Do at least once a week to embed. Extend by asking children to think of their own examples for each grammatical term. Perhaps they can create a new game?
