A-Level Biology Objective RAG Tracker (AQA) I’ve created a fully mapped objective tracker for AQA A-Level Biology designed to help students monitor their understanding across the entire course. The spreadsheet contains ~470 specification-linked objectives organised by topic and command word (describe, explain, analyse etc.). Students RAG-rate each objective (Red / Amber / Green) to track their confidence and identify gaps in knowledge. Key features • Full AQA specification coverage • ~470 learning objectives • Topic-tagged and ordered by chapter • Simple Red / Amber / Green self-assessment • Automatic dashboard showing: • % mastery • % objectives needing work • % objectives completed • RAG distribution pie chart • Revision Priorities sheet that automatically lists all Red objectives • Built-in progress bars and visual indicators • Protected formulas so students can only edit the RAG column How students use it 1. Rate each objective Red, Amber or Green 2. Dashboard updates automatically 3. Revision Priorities page generates a personalised revision list 4. Students revisit objectives and update their ratings after revision or assessments This works well for: • independent revision planning • post-topic self-assessment • mock exam reflection • identifying weakest topics before exams I’ve found it particularly useful in Year 13 revision where students need targeted revision rather than re-learning the whole course.
