Traditional tales re-telling prompts

This is a set of 12 prompt cards based on traditional tales to aid story re-telling and role play. Each story has a list of main characters, setting, key objects and 'What went wrong&'. The text is very brief and should allow re-telling in own words with a small level of scaffolding. I have included a pdf and a word doc so that you can edit away if you would like to. Please let me know how you get on. * the giant is missing from Jack and the Beanstalk, sorry!

Will aid the teaching of unit 37, Grammar for Writing, years 5 and 6: changing tense and meaning with modal and auxiliary verbs. jpg file has a copy of the poem Please leave feedback - this was my son&';s first reading of the poem, it's 99% word perfect :)
