(16)
Geometry group activity. Get pupils into groups of 3. Number them 1 to 3 or colour them. Each member of the group will be given the task to learn how to construct a triangle given different properties. They then will be given 10 minutes to learn this for their triangle (triangles for constructing.doc - Cut into strip horizontally) and then show the rest of their group how to do this. In the 10 minutes of learning how to construct their triangles split the room into 3 and given each group the correct help sheet (constructing Triangles.doc). Group 1: ASA Group 2: SAS Group 3: SSS

Pupil have to fill in the blank columns. Number of sides and picture are given to them for polygons upto dodecagon. Pupils have to fill in the names of the polygons, an interior angle of a regular polygon, and the sum of the interior angles. Extension: Pupil can fill in the blank column and work out the number of triangles that fit into each polygon. Get pupils to think how the relationship between columns can lead to a general case for each column. Where n = number of side.
