This was a successful 20 minute interview lesson on the poem Still I Rise for a year 9 mixed ability class. The L.O: To identify and analyse how a writer’s methods convey meaning through annotation. It includes an I, We, You and a MUST, SHOULD, COULD to ensure all students succeed. There are additional checks for understanding if the time was allowed.

A successful interview lesson, however I didn’t take the job. 30 min lesson on AQA Language Paper 1 Question 3 structure, for a mid ability group of Year 10. Includes the powerpoint, extract and resource. Also included: I, WE, YOU and then MUST, SHOULD, COULD, plus check for understanding.

A 63 slide power point containing 31 Low Stakes Quizzes about Macbeth. Each slide has 5 questions about Macbeth plus 2 questions about A Christmas Carol. The following slide contains the answers. The questions are tracked in order of studying the play, with newer questions at the start (so numbers 1 and 2) and then other questions being revisited from previous quizzes (so numbers 3-5) then questions 6 and 7 are always on A Christmas Carol. I have used this at the start of every lesson with year 11 and seems to work well with interleaving and recall and retention. Hope you enjoy!

A simple quote activity for the whole play. Students are asked to fill in the blanks for key quotations across Macbeth. Answer sheet is also provided. I have used this as a homework activity.
