This is a 19 lesson SOL based around ‘The Breadwinner’ by Deborah Ellis. It covers these objectives: Study the novel’s characters and their experiences. Use your ability to infer about characters and empathise with difficult situations. Learn about the contextual factors of the novel such as life under Taliban rule and censorship. Identify the structural features of newspaper/ magazine articles Practise using these features and other language devices to make our own writing informative and descriptive. Revisit our understanding of narratives

KS3 or low ability KS4. Two lesson sequence based on 'Minority Report' that introduces the idea of Utopia and Dystopia. Students learn definitions of the two and create their own utopic societies and consider how these could develop into dystopias. Notes at the bottom of the ppt on how to use the resource.

An assembly that explains the religious 'Epiphany' then relates to, firstly the underlying meaning of gifts received at Christmas then asks students to reflect on the gifts given to them by god and how they can use these gifts in the school community

Assembly for Ks3/Ks4. Begins with a video link to youtube of famous people who failed. There are a series of slides to encourage students to take a growth mind set and view failure as necessary for learning and success.
