Year 6 Mini Comprehensions – Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone (Chapters 1-6) Summary: Each mini comprehension consists of 5 questions mimicking the style of the KS2 Reading SATs paper. Example answers are attached although these are brief; therefore, alternative answers could be acceptable. I have previously edited the formatting to insert writing lines or children have written answers in their reading journals. I hope Year 6 Teachers find these mini comprehensions useful for teaching SATs style questions; SATs revision or simply to support a class text or topic.

The theme is spooky writing and also includes A story mountain template along with an example plan for a spooky narrative. The resource is ideal to accompany lesson plans when writing a spooky narrative. There is an animated youtube video called ‘Francis’ which I find supports this pack well.
