Body Language Illustrated – Zones of Regulation This resource is based upon the Zones of Regulation. For each zone, a clear drawing of a child is labelled according to how the particular part of the body looks when the child is in that zone. A Special Educational Needs child will not be aware of the body language he or she projects when in a particular zone. This resource features a clear, easy to understand description of the body language of each of the four Zones of Regulation. Teachers and parents can use this resource to teach a child what their body language looks like and what impression they are therefore giving over to others. Teachers and parents can also use this resource to help a child work out what Zone the child is in. In a mainstream KS1 and KS2 classroom, these resources can be printed out as posters to be hung in a prominent position, enabling children to reach Social Awareness. Teachers or parents can also use this resource to help a child work through their feelings and emotions. With clear pictures and child friendly terminology, this resource is a must for any teacher or parent of KS1 and KS2 as well as for a teacher, parent and carer KS3 and KS4 SEN young persons.
