Students will learn about energy generation whilst designing and modelling a wind turbine. My students love this project and have produced some amazing outcomes. I used fluted plastic sheet but you could easily use card for the modelling, craft kinves and some adhesive. The modelling park is fun and easy. There are Do Now activities and instructions planned for every lesson. This project was planned with the Rampion Wind Farm in Sussex in mind but can easily be altered to be based on one near you to increase student buy in. The project is designed to last between 3-5 double lesson but could be extended to incorporate CAD modelling of the wind turbine too.
