This is a roughly 4 week unit (3 lessons a week) aimed at Year 7. Students study Shakespeare’s language, villains, presentation of women, and the 3 different forms of plays.

This is a complete SOL for the 2018 novel ‘Ghost Boys’ by Jewell Parker-Rhodes. All powerpoints, resources, and a Knowledge Organiser are included. These lessons were part of a 12 week unit and were taught as doubles (2hr 15 min lessons) to mixed ability Year 8 classes. Knowledge Organiser is attached.

Visual aid to help students analyse literature

Full lesson on Q3 of the AQA Language paper 1. Uses the idea of a film camera to get students thinking about the structure techniques they need to be able to identify for this question. Also includes exemplar paragraphs.

These are the first 4 lessons (of 6) for a Year 7 SOL studying Philip Pullman’s Frankenstein. The rest of the lessons will be added shortly. These lessons have been created as doubles (each lesson is over 2hrs) but can easily be split into singles as well. There is a variety of tasks and differentiation throughout the lessons so the scheme could be easily adapted for Year 8 as well.
