Exemplar D&T NEA Examples (Product Design/ Mixed Materials) Both are fresh examples of the Iterative Design Process. Context 1: Design for Nature Personal Brief: Create a range of products inspired by nature that are aimed to encourage users to think about nature and the affect their behaviour has on the environment. Outcome: a set of Ply/ MDF shelving inspired by trees and the prototype of outdoor shelter. Material areas: PD, Biomimicy and Textiles Context 2: Children’s learning and play Personal Brief: Design a piece of lighting focussing on emotional interaction, play and enlightening users. Outcome: Live breif that produces a lamp made of acrylic, inspired by Kerplunk. Material areas- Resistant materials and Product Design
