I achieved an A* at A-level for English Language (exam board: AQA) and also an A* for my coursework. Language Investigation : ‘An investigation of diachronic language change in football reports since the 1980s’ - includes issues such as racism and the development of political correctness. . The focal point of this investigation was to monitor how the language devices utilised in football reports have evolved over the years . Investigating from the 1980s, was a wide enough time frame to have allowed my study to elicit comparative results, as society has significantly progressed since then . The language investigation looks into semantic reclamation, pejoration, neologisms, cliches and pragmatics.
