Requires access to netbooks/computer room. This worked really well with a low ability year 9 group - they enjoyed being able to find this information out on their own - but could be used for higher set as well.
This was used as a starter for a high ability year 7 group to link classification and musculoskeletal lessons. Students to guess the animal from the skeleton followed by a class discussion about how and why the skeletons are different.
Print and laminate back to back. Students to circle the 4 squares which will cause a displacement reaction and can turn the cards over to check their answers (answers in green).\n\nUsed for high and low ability year 9 groups. For the higher ability group, they had to go on to write out the word equation for to show the products of the displacement reactions.
This was used for a high ability year 9 group as a revision tool. Worked well as a starter during a global warming project to give them a few ideas about the effects of acid and rain and global warming. Students to place the cards in a diamond with the card that is most important to them at the top and least important at the bottom.
