Retrieval of key information
Vocabulary in context
Evaluation and language choices
Greater depth reasoning questions
Questions are presented in an authentic SATs format, including:
Tick-box questions
Short answer responses
Evidence-based questions

True/false style statements
This resource is ideal for:
SATs revision lessons
Guided reading sessions
Whole-class comprehension practice

Adaptation for skills-based warm-ups
All questions are carefully structured to mirror the style and difficulty of KS2 SATs reading papers.
PLEASE NOTE: This resource does not include the text from the novel due to copyright.

About the author
Working in primary education for over a decade and a full-time classroom teacher since 2019, these resources are made with experience teaching upper KS2, including Year 6 and SATs preparation. I have achieved strong outcomes with pupils, including some of the highest results for SATs within the trust I worked in.
My resources are designed using analysis of previous SATs papers, focusing on the question formats and content domains that appear most frequently and where pupils typically need the most practice, particularly inference, retrieval, and vocabulary.
