I created this as a 6 lesson scheme for the start of year 7 but this could work with Y8. Students are introduced to Greek Theatre with a focus on creating chorus work. All lessons start with a paired talk do now and the scheme ends with a Learning Checkpoint where students record feedback. Skills/techniques taught include: Mime Narration Exaggeration Unison Cannon Greek Amphitheatre/Thrust staging Choral speaking Use of Rhythm There is also an optional extra intro lesson to settle new year 7’s into drama at secondary.
