A thesis statement writing guide aimed at higher ability students. Ten potential exam questions are posed that aims to get students into those nooks and crannies of the play, as they learn to anticipate what extract(s) would be the most suited to each theme and/or character of the question. Support is gradually decreased using the thesis statement grid, until the student is creating their own, using AO3-AO2-AO1 as their guide, which also aligns with What, How, and Why, or Context - Text - Task.
A self-completed RAG audit for A Christmas Carol studied for GCSE English Literature. The audit directs the student to the urgent topics and skills they need to revise.

A 44-page Macbeth revision guide, with sources, recommended links, wider reading, exemplar responses, exam mark scheme, vocabulary and tasks, and a brief guide to writing a thesis-led response.
RAG audit of skills required for English Language Paper 2; students can self-complete and mark the skills for each of the question as Red, Amber, or Green. A brief summary of what is required for each question follows. Enables students to then create a revision plan based on the reds.
Using an extract from The Wereworld, questions 1-4 are covered, with some guidance through prompts in order to encourage independence with mid-ability students. Easy for printing off and uploading for revision on AQA English Language Paper 1 Q1-4.
This is a resource I created for my top set last year and explores a detailed thesis statement that adopts a conceptualised approach with signposting. Each slide covers one aspect from a AO3, AO2, AO1 approach and at the end are two slides inviting students to create their own thesis statements in response to potential literature questions. There is also space for students to explore their own ideas on each text they are studying. All feedback welcome.
